Fields of Experience

Ms. Searcy has consulted to the utility, gas processing, refining, and chemical industries and to various government agencies and government contractors.  Ms. Searcy has particular expertise in early-stage process evaluation and process simulation.  She has provided the following services for clients:

 

·         Evaluation of technical and economic feasibility for emerging technologies;

·         Cost-benefit analysis for process options and modifications;

·         Contract research and development via

o        Literature reviews and engineering studies; and

o        Design, execution, and evaluation of lab, bench, and pilot test programs;

·         Preparation of process design packages;

·         Process troubleshooting and debottlenecking;

·         Rigorous process simulation of electrolyte and non-electrolyte systems (AspenPlus, WinSim Design II, OLI ESP electrolyte simulator); and

·         Software development.

 

Ms. Searcy has applied these services to air pollution control (SO2, SO3, mercury, NOx) at pulverized coal-fired plants, gasification pollution control, geothermal brine systems, natural gas desulfurization and dehydration, natural gas gathering systems, natural gas liquids (NGL) plants, CO2 dehydration, CO2 capture, ion exchange, niche chemical processes, caustic scrubbing, liquid fuel desulfurization, corn wet milling, and numerous other areas. 

 

Ms. Searcy also has interests in systems integration, industrial ecology, and biobased products.
