PROCESS
SIMULATION CAPABILITIES
Simulation
Uses:
-Develop
basis for process, pipeline, or wellbore design
-Develop
preliminary process, pipeline, or wellbore designs
-Prepare
material and energy balances
-Identify
options for reducing costs for existing processes, pipelines, or wells
-Size and
rate heat exchangers, pumps, process vessels, packed and trayed absorbers,
compressors, expanders, reactors, etc.
-Predict full
range of fluid properties
-Piping
system hydraulics calculations
-Evaluation
of problems requiring rigorous thermodynamic analysis and phase equilibria
calculations
Examples
of Simulation Experience:
-Developed
simulation of CrystaSulf sulfur recovery process including reactive
tray-by-tray gas absorption unit operations
-Simulated
numerous gas dehydration systems for troubleshooting and optimization
-Evaluated
pipeline pressure loss and effects on fluid properties for supercritical
CO2 and two-phase flow in pipelines
-Evaluated
well tubing sizes vs. desired production rates for determination of need
to change tubing size
-Developed
simulation of hydrotreating system for mixture of sour NGLs, predicted
effects of the type of H2S removal system on H2
purity and system cost
-Used
simulation to prepare process design for stripper to remove H2S
from NGL

Simulation Software:
Trimeric uses
WinSim DESIGN II software for process simulation.
This is a time-tested steady state simulator with state-of-the-art
capabilities. Trimeric’s
staff also has extensive experience with ASPEN PLUS and other software for
aqueous chemical and physical solubility equilibria.
Trimeric uses specialized software for modeling pipelines &
well tubing that incorporates the state-of-the-art OLGAS 2000 calculation
engine.
